THE IMPORTANCE OF CHD2 AWARENESS DAY Awareness days are not just an opportunity to spread the word about a disorder; they provide an opportunity to engage the community of patients and families affected by a disease and to help accelerate research. This Awareness Day, February 2nd, please help CCC continue to build on our mission to improve the lives of those affected by CHD2-related disorders by increasing education, building community, and accelerating research to uncover a cure.
In 2025, CCC hosted its second Family and Scientific Conference, connected with 200 new CHD2 families, provided research funding to test disease modifying therapeutics, attended/presented at conferences in the US and the UK, and worked with our team of volunteers to improve the lives of those affected by CHD2-related disorders.
We are excitedly preparing for our 4th scientific symposium June 2026; a CHD2 natural history study that we hope will begin enrolling by the end of the year; and the development of clinical consensus guidelines that will help clinicians better treat CHD2 patients. Also in 2026, we will expand our educational materials, improve our website, host community webinars, and develop a new travel scholarships fund for community members to participate in the natural history study and/or attend upcoming family conferences. Excitingly, we are hopeful that CHD2 targeted therapies tested in 2025 will be heading towards clinical trials in 2026!
